Who is zyProtect?
We are a China-based security company focused on protecting your business-critical web applications by applying our industry-leading artificial intelligence (AI) and proprietary machine-learning algorithms. These advanced protection technologies are incorporated into zyWAF, our state-of-the-art Web Application Firewall (WAF) designed to protect websites from hackers and other security threats. zyWAF automatically creates unique safe access criteria for each specific website using machine learning, thereby protecting against website attacks and malicious access. zyWAF’s AI blocks all website access attempts that do not comply with these learned safe access criteria. By being locally hosted, zyWAF avoids the problem that cloud WAFs can be easily bypassed. Additionally, it avoids time-consuming upgrades and patches necessary in hardware-based WAFs by using AI rather than predefined, potentially out-of-date, signatures. Most importantly, by utilizing AI to learn each specific site (rather than generic rules), zyWAF eliminates the problems of inefficiency and under-reporting found in non-AI WAFs. zyWAF combines AI and machine learning to learn the unique characteristics of and to provide the customized protection for each website.

Zero-Day Protection
Traditional WAFs have a list of “signatures” collected from previous attacks and then use this historic list to detect future attacks. If the attack is new, the attack will not be detected by a traditional WAF using signatures. zyWAF learns the website automatically and applies AI to identify all the safe access behaviors for each unique website. It then blocks all unsafe access behaviors. In this way zyWAF can block unknown attacks and provided “zero-day” protection from new attack types.
Machine Learning
zyWAF uses machine learning technology to understand each unique website. It learns permitted behavior for accessing the website and blocks out all threatening behavior. It automatically continues to adapt as change so the website stays protected without security personnel having to make time-consuming changes to the WAF. Traditional WAFs require on-going, manual updates and changes.
Flexible Deployment
zyWAF is software that can be deployed easily and less expensively on existing hardware. Traditional WAF products are based on signature libraries and typically require weeks to install and configure. zyWAF provides a “quick setup” interface that can be set up in minutes.
Friendly Monitoring
zyWAF monitoring is easily done using a management console running on a traditional computer or a mobile device. Mobile access ensures that system and security experts have 24/7 visibility of the website’s security status. Security notifications can be automatically emailed or posted to an internal web page. Detailed security data is available in pre-defined reports or data can be downloaded for custom analysis.
